Crater Lake receives 44 feet of snow in an average winter, and is a fantastic destination for cross country skiing and snowshoeing.Snowshoeing to building  On winter weekends at 1 p.m., park rangers present free 90 minute ecology walks on snowshoes - and they even provide the snowshoes free of charge. Children 8 and older are welcome, too.  For more independent visitors, several marked cross country ski trails are also available for various skill levels.  Click here to visit the Crater Lake Ski Patrol website.

School groups, outdoor clubs and other groups of 10 or more people can arrange for a special ranger-led snowshoe walk by calling (541)594-3100.  Group walks are available on weekdays at 1 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays at 10:00 a.m.
