Star Parties
The Trust hosts star parties at Crater Lake
In August 2009, the Trust hosted the first Star Parties at the Watchman Overlook at Crater Lake. These events coincided with the Perseid meteor showers, and the star gazing and meteor watching was amazing.
As we waited for sunset, Robert Black (Planetarium Director from North Medford High School) began the evening with a presentation about the Perseid Meteor showers, their formation and history.
The crystal clear night and the lack of ambient light help to make Crater Lake an awesome viewing location.
