Crater Lake Reflections Lecture Series
Crater Lake Reflections events 'bring the park to the people' in communities across the region
Crater Lake is a magical place. The lake was created by one of the greatest volcanic eruptions of all time, is the deepest in North America, and holds the purest water in the world.
Unfortunately, the park itself is remote and difficult to access in winter, and historically there have been only limited opportunities to learn about the park in other venues.
During 2009, the Trust launched a new annual program of public events, Crater Lake Reflections, to "bring the park to the people" and increase public appreciation of this special place. Our first event at Portland State University drew over 130 people, and events have been held in Bend, Ashland, and other regional cities. Check back here to learn about future events.
