Free Family Snow Day at Crater Lake April 18 Adds $5 Bus!

CRATER LAKE, OR  – The Crater Lake National Park Trust announced today that it will offer round trip bus transportation from Medford for just $5 each to people who wish to attend its second annual free "Family Snow Day" at the park on Sunday, April 18 from 1PM to 3PM.

This event is held in conjunction with National Parks Week, and park admission will be free all day. Special activities will include snowshoe races for kids, "snow science" activities, winter safety demonstrations by the Crater Lake Ski Patrol, and more. Dagoba Organic Chocolate has donated free hot chocolate for the day, and the park's Rim Cafe will be open for lunch.

The event is presented by the nonprofit Crater Lake National Park Trust, which is also partnering with area youth groups to bring kids to the park for this event. The Trust also provides funding for thousands of area students to visit the park through the Classroom at Crater Lake education program.

"Now, more than ever, families are looking for an affordable way to have fun together," noted Trust Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator Maria Clementi. "I can't imagine anything more fun than Crater Lake in the snow, and hopefully this affordable bus option will make it even easier for folks to join us for the day!"

Families are encouraged to dress warmly, in layers, and be prepared for winter driving. For more information, contact the Trust at (541) 708-5125 or info@craterlaketrust.org.
